Glen Gray & The Casa Nova Orchestra

Thanks Bob for finding this one !!..a great tribute to the big swing bands of the bygone years...

The Casa Loma Orchestra was a popular American dance band active from 1927 to 1963. From 1929 until the rapid multiplication in the number of swing bands from 1935 on, the Casa Loma Orchestra was one of the top North American dance bands. With the decline of the big band business following the end of World War II, it disbanded in 1947. However, from 1957 to 1963, it re-emerged as a recording session band in Hollywood, made up of top-flight studio musicians under the direction of its most notable leader of the past, Glen Gray. The reconstituted band made a limited number appearances live and on television and recorded fifteen LP albums for Capitol Records before Gray died in 1963.

Earl Grant

Keeping the mood with no vocal just music now....the organ & piano playing of Earl Grant !!

Earl Grant was a triple-threat entertainer as a pianist, organist, and vocalist. While much of his material fell into the arenas of either light pop or jazz-schmaltz, Grant scored two R&B hits in the late '50s and early '60s, the most memorable being "Sweet Sixteen Bars" in 1962. It reached number nine on the R&B charts. His prior smash "The End" was his lone pop hit, reaching number seven in 1958. Grant also was in the films "Tender Is The Night," "Imitation of Life," and "Tokyo Night." He was killed in 1970 in a car wreck at age 39.

The hit song that put "The Bachelors" on the musical map in 1963 was  "Charmaine" followed by "Diane"...so the concept of this L/P is pretty obvious !!!

Sandy Posey

The Country and Western voice (I Think) !! of Sandy Posey sings some classic songs !!

Sandy Posey (born June 18, 1944) is an American popular singer, who enjoyed success in the 1960s with singles such as her 1966 recording of Martha Sharpe's composition, "Single Girl." She is often described as a country singer, although, like Skeeter Davis (to whom she has been frequently compared) her output has varied. Later in her career, the term "countrypolitan," associated with the "Nashville sound", was sometimes applied.[Posey had four hit singles in the United States, three of which peaked at number 12 in the sales charts.

Rita Reys (born Maria Everdina Reijs; 21 December 1924 – 28 July 2013) was a jazz singer from the Netherlands. At the 1960 French jazz festival of Juan-les-Pins, she received the title, "Europe's first lady of jazz".[

Daryl Hall & John Oates

Daryl Hall and John Oates, often referred to as Hall & Oates, are an American musical duo from Philadelphia. Daryl Hall is generally the lead vocalist of the pairing. John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. The two write most of the songs they perform, either separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s with a fusion of rock and roll and rhythm and blues.
Great featured Track !!

Derek And The Dominos

Along with the post below here is another group that I have not heard before in the same kinda musical "Rock" influence !!

The group's sole studio album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, although a critical and commercial flop in 1971, charted in 1972 and 1982 and now is not only considered one of Clapton's most outstanding achievements, but also consistently appears in listings of the best rock albums ever recorded. It may have been the pinnacle of both Clapton's and Whitlock's careers. The band's producer, Tom Dowd, said of it that he "felt it was the best ... album I'd been involved with and was disappointed at the lack of acclaim it garnered on its release.

1. I Looked Away
2. Bell Bottom Blues
3. Keep On Growing
4. Nobody Knows You When Your Down And out
5. I Am Yours
